Violence against women is a
cross-cultural phenomenon related to male control of women’s sexuality, the
relationships between women and property, and economic inequalities between men
and women. “Bride kidnapping” is only one example of these
interconnections.

mentioned website, each reflection paper must include a bibliography of no less
than three sources-one electronic, another from a peer reviewed journal and
lastly, a magazine/newspaper.
Reflection Paper : General
Instructions and Rubric
Purpose: Throughout your course, you will be expected
to provide evidence that you both understand and meet written and analytical
standards. One way of doing this is to produce a well-written and thought-out response
to important questions and issues facing both you as an individual and society
as a whole. Therefore, you will be asked throughout this course to develop
reflective responses on various topics.
Format: All reflection paper should be 2-3 pages long,
typed, double-spaced and in a 12 point regular font with one-inch margins.
Despite the fact that these paper are designed to reflect your thinking
process, they must cite external sources as these will help you to develop an
informed opinion based on facts and not biases. Thus, each reflection paper
must include a bibliography of no less than three sources-one electronic,
another from a peer reviewed journal and lastly, a magazine/newspaper. These
sources must be legitimate and fully referenced (i.e. no wikipedia and no
blogs). You have to use MLA citation style. Grammar and spelling will count. Do
not dash these off at the last minute. Please make appointments with the
Academic Support Center before due date for them to be reviewed. These
reflection papers are to be used as proof of your meeting standards and
therefore must be thoughtful and meaningful.
