Choose some aspect of the media that is presented in the chapter to further explore. For example, you could look into the alleged paradox that the combination of “soft power” and “hard power” presents, explore contentions (such as those of Jean Kilbourne) that advertising creates forces that impact women’s lives, examine recent allegations of racism in the media, or analyze some aspect of the way that media has changed the way that gender or race is depicted.
